I am planing to move my websites to a new host and I have a few questions.
One of my website reaches close to 100 GB of bandwidth transfer each month and I was wondering if it would need a dedicated server. I only had shared accounts in the passed and don't have any knowledge about dedicated servers and the more I read about it the less I understand. Is everything automated like on a shared server or do I have to maintain, install and upgrade the servers softwares myself?
I had some problems with my actual host after a hacker installed some phishing files in my website. My host suspended my account and only wanted to reopen it if they erasedall data. They didn't give me any support about how or why my website was hacked and told me that if it happens again they will terminate my account.
Can these attacks be prevented and monitored by the hosting company or is it as they say the customers own responsability to protect the server?
One last question. Can the payments for your services be done with a monthly Paypal subscription?
