View Full Version : Question about Control Panels... kind of.

Well, on your page, it says that the Ensim Control Panel packages are hosted by the nice Pentium 4, 1.7ghz computer. However, it also said that the Cpanel packages are hosted by a not-as-nice computer. So, I was just wondering... why such a difference?

Also, could I get a working link to a demo of the Ensim control panel? The one on your site isn't working correctly (the link). Unless Ensim is great, I'm kind of disappointed that it gets the good computer, and not Cpanel. However, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. :)

Thanks in advance!
-I hope.

Thank you for pointing out that the link was broken. Ensim changed the location on me. I have updated the website with the correct link. I will include it here as well:

http://www.ensim.com/Products/Webppliance/Linux/3_1/demos/webppliance31/sitelogin.html

The big difference between the 2 is that cpanel allows you to create subdomains, your own databases, and a few other less important features.

As far as the difference in servers, you are correct in stating that the configuration of the ensim server is a little better, however, we closely monitor server resources and will restrict the number of users per server/move users as required to ensure that the server performance remains acceptable.

Thank you for taking time to write and we look forward to the opportunity to serve you.

Glad I could help out with the broken link and such.

However, I take it that Ensim doesn't allow you to create your own subdomains, databases, etc.? :(

Why not put CPanel on the good computer, and Ensim on the other? From what I have read at WebHostingTalk.com, people seem to prefer CPanel over everything else. So, I think maybe it would increase your sales and such?

I don't know, just a speculation...

I will agree that Cpanel is certainly more popular. The specs on the current cpanel servers are average-above average for the industry. However, future Cpanel servers will be based on faster hardware platforms.

Oh, alright, thank you for letting me know. However, do you have any sort of an estimated date as to when AOH will be getting those new hardware platforms for CPanel?

Just curious...

Got one on order. If you want to place your order now, I will hold it and set it up on the new server once it is ready.

I am quite interested in placing an order with you. Just let me know when you've got CPanel setup on the new hardware, and I'll signup. I'll just need some sort of proof you know... so that I know for sure you've actually come through with the new equipment. If you do, then I'll trust you forever, which is good.

Btw, what are the new system specs that CPanel will be on?

I understand your scepticisim. I expect to have the server setup by tonight and will probably begin creating accounts on it in the next few days. The new server will be:

P4 1.5Ghz
1G Ram
60G 7200 RPM drive

When ready, I will provide you proof that it is what I say it is. We are an honest company and are not trying to hide anything. I will update you when it is ready to go.
