Hi,

I posted at WHT and got a reply from Dan.

The thread is a follows

Reseller or not?
Hi All,

I was just wondering if it makes sense to go with a reseller account instead of 3-5 individual accounts.

I figured it would be easier to put all my sites on one server and a dedicated is too much $.

You don't need to resell accounts if you have one correct?

Thanks

Thats correct allstar.

There are also options on some accounts for multiple domains in one account and they are usually cheaper than a reseller account. You will not get as much flexibility with email/subdomains, etc with a multidomain account.

Thanks for your input guys.

And yes Dan I need "flexibility with email/subdomains"

I was actually browsing for hours today reading posts (do that alot )

I was thinking going with httpme but they are not taking any more orders for now.

I also had looked at Alphaomega quite a bit. The reseller 2 or 3 plan would work for me.

Tell me Dan, do the servers come with ImageMagick installed? I need it for a Dating Site. Also SSH? Your site is done well but a little more info on what's included would be nice.

Lastly, can anyone tell me why I would care if I had my own name servers or not?

Thanks again

Hi Bob, thanks for your interest in AlphaOmegaHosting.Com

If you really need flexibility in email options, I would recommend going with a reseller plan. While the newest version of cpanel (which we run) does have better support for multiple domains and their email accounts, it is as good as doing it via a reseller account. With a reseller account, each domain will have its own control panel.

Yes, all servers are preconfigured with Imagemagick and it is installed in /usr/local/bin/convert

We also provide SSH access if there is a need for it to manage your website. We do not provide it for continuous connections or for scripts or programs to run such as irc bots and similar.

If these are personal accounts, there is really no need for you to use your own nameservers. This is a service provided to our "commercial" resellers who do not want their customers to know we are in the picture. Obviously, if these are your accounts, that will not be necessary.

We look forward to serving you bob.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Ok, if I decide to purchase I have 4 Domains:

I am assuming one of them would have to be the main account correct?

Than I could just add the others.

Thanks

Exactly bob, and main really just means which username/password/domain is associated with the login to the tool to create the domains. We will also be happy to take care of that portion for you once you are set up.

Ok I just signed up!

Now gotta get ready to move!

One site will be a pain ;)

Thanks

Bob

The only reason I wanted my own name servers was so that when someone queried mydomain.com the dns would show mydomainserver.net. Might or might not be important to you.

It doesn't make much difference to me what shows up...but if it is important to you, then we can do it. Just submit a help desk ticket and we will take care of it.
