My partner made a query on webhostingtalk and got an offer from you and basically we're biased towards the AlphaOmega part ;)

But still business is business so here's our presale qn.

1) Support Wait:
How long is the typical wait for responses to support issues? We've got the livechat window opened for more than 30 minutes. Nobody's responded yet, despite the fact I'm doing this at 3AM my local time, for around 3PM your time.

2) Dedicated IP
We're relatively new on this and was under the impression that in order to use dns.mysite.com, a dedicated IP is needed. However, under the reseller3 plan, the private name server is included... without a dedicated IP. Why?

3) Multiple Domains
For RS1 and RS2, there is a limit of 10 and 20 respectively. How is this calculated for subdomains? Do sub1.mysite.com sub2.mysite.com and sub1.myclient.com count as 3 or 2?

4) CPanel
We have never used this before, I know you have a demo (embarrasingly enough I found it then lost track of how I did), where is the link?

5) SSH
We do quite a bit of our mySQL work through the console and would like to know how much it would cost to include SSH?

6) PHP/Apache versions
Do you upgrade these software regularly or they stay until some happen (e.g. security loopholes) and an upgrade becomes essential?

7) Reseller Server Location
Your main site seems snappy enough but can you provide the IP of the datacenter for reseller servers or any reseller graciously provide some sites hosted on those servers for me to check out?

8) POP Email
What kind of POP login do you use?
normal username and password or some arcane combination of username/site, e.g. user1%myclient1.com?

9) Web Stats
Do you have a sample for the webstats provided?

Sorry if any are stupid questions, we have not been doing this for a long time and consider ourselves relatively new.

1. I am sorry for the issue with chat. The chat program is incompatible with some browsers and yours appears to be one of them. I have had to occurances today of chat requests that were opened, but never received anything from the customer...presumably because you never saw what I was typing. For this I appologize. If you use an IM, please feel free to use MSN/AIM/YIM/ICQ instead. However, chat support is provided on an as available basis. The primary method of support is provided via helpdesk tickets. I am sure most of my customers will attest that we are quite quick with our responses.

2. Private nameserver do receive a dedicated IP for that purpose in the sense that it will not be used for any other nameservers. This satisfies the requirements that some registrars have regarding nameservers.

3. If the subdomains are created with their own control panels, then they count towards the number of domains you can have.

4. You can see a demo at http://demo:demo@inetsrv5.gahost.com:2082/

5. We can provide SSH access if needed. However, be aware that no continuously running programs are allowed. Also, compilers are not to be used. SSH access is to be used exclusively for the management of the websites that are hosted with us...or in your case, also their databases.

6. We typically don't mess with the versions unless there is a reason to do so. Usually a vulnerability seems to come along every few months that causes us to update apache/php. Mysql is updated automatically via the cpanel processes, so it is subject to change at the descrection of DarkOrb (Maker of Cpanel).

7. Our webpage is hosted in the same datacenter as the other reseller servers. You can use our address as an address to test ping.

8. The pop login for sites that use a shared IP address (which will be all of them provided they are not using an ssl certificate) will be user@domain.com.

9. Take a look in the cpanel demo for more information on webstats.
