Hey Guys,

Is there any type of SSL we can use? Or do we need our own cert. I only need it for a secure form.

Thanks

We have a shared SSL that is available to use on the cpanel servers. It can be used by constructing your url such as

https://secure2.alphaomegahosting.com/~accountname/ - Inetsrv5
https://inetsrv6.gahost.com/~accountname/ - Inetsrv6

Ok,

I know I don't have my own name servers but would it be the same if I did?

It might entice me to up grade to the next highest account.

Also, should the certificate window pop open or show the little lock in the ie browser status bar? Because it does not.

Thanks

You should get a lock and no popup box. The use of private nameservers doesn't change the above. If you would like for it to be https://www.yourdomain.com you will need a dedicated IP address and a SSL certificate just for your site.

Ok.

No problem. I am still working on two sites that won't need it for now. Including the main account. When I finally get done and IF they take off it is something to consider.

But...

The lock does show for my sub accounts like

https://inetsrv6.gahost.com/~floridat/

But not the main account

https://inetsrv6.gahost.com/~allstar/

Like I said, I have not been working on the main account until I get a software upgrade and won't need it as of yet anyway. Just wondering.

Thanks

Most often this happens as a result of one of the things on the web page being called in a non secure way like href=http://somewherelse.com
