On another thread in this forum (http://www.support-forums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=285&perpage=15&pagenumber=2) we got to talking about Crazy Browser. CB, that is.

Gnome wondered if CB supports the google tool bar.

Nay, CB doesn't support external toolbars.

However, CB will do a splendid google search quite easily.

To do a google search, just enter what you want to search for in the address block then hit Alt+enter. For example, to search for bird feathers do...

alt+d [sends cursor to the address bar]
bird feathers
alt+return

Poof! You got a google search for bird feathers.

As afkamm indicated , you can set up for any search engine you want by doing...

options
advanced options
domain completion

Thereon you will see the alt+enter code for google. You can use same pattern for yahoo, dmoz -- whatever -- & assign to ctrl+enter, shift+enter, and so forth.

CB by the way has a pretty good help. Check out the other keyboard shortcuts therein. PDG!

I have switched to CB as my primary surfing browser now. I used to use MyIE2 but that browser lacks the icons to show what zone I am in [internet, trusted, etc.]

By the way, CB's pop-up killer works good.

For folks who might want to try CB. it's a free download from...

Thanks for the info Bells. Thus far, I really like it. The alt+enter workaround for my beloved google toolbar is perfectly acceptable, and the only thing that I've run into so far that I really wish was different is the lack of full functionality for my scroll wheel... it scrolls fine, but pushing the button doesn't do the same thing that it does in IE... if that's the only irritation, I think I'll be able to live with it :)

I can't afford a fancy mouse, but I THINK pushing on your scroll button equates to pushing the *third* mouse button.

If I am correct, then you might get it to work like it does in IE if you disable the other functions given to the 3rd button by CB. Try the following [no guarantees]...

options
advanced options
uncheck <middle mouse button toggles full screen>
browser tabs
at "close tabs on" uncheck<middle mouse button click>
at "new tabs" uncheck<middle mouse button click on links>

Of course, once 3rd button no longer triggers full screen, you can still toggle full screen by hitting F11.

Let me know if this works. If not ... hey, gomen nasai

I bow to thee o' master. Young grasshoppa think you very big wisdom!!

Worked like a charm Bells... had all but one of them turned off already and the last one did the trick.

I'm sold... IE just took a dirt nap.
