One trillion calculations per second... pardon me as I get a towel to wipe up the drool from my keyboard.

Better graphics, better sound, etc. The $400mil would be of better use to find a new idea for a game. Everything I am playing is a better looking version of doom, warcraft, civ,mud or fifa. 5 old games. :bawling:

I didn't bother reading the article, as it is located on the ultimate scum of the internet, but I have picked up quotes of it at my own forums. Apparently they're comparing apples to toothpicks. It's like comparing the GeForce 4 GPU to a Pentium 2. It just doesn't work.

I never installed GameSpy because I have the feeling that something is dubiously but I am curious why you call it " the ultimate scum of the internet".

We're one of many sites that has happened to. In the months we've been away from them, they've changed their hosting policy to essentially *require* that all hosted sites either use FilePlanet and FilePlanet alone, or don't put files up for download. Not to mention their block-access-to-your-page-and-annoy-visitors advertising..

Not to mention they royally f*ck over any PlanetSite and the staff that runs it these days...their new contract led to a good number of Planet site directors and staff quitting, including the guys at PlanetUnreal, PlanetAvP, the site director of PlanetQuake stepping down, PlanetDeuxEx, and a few others I know of...

What they did is :angry: (my exact words will be banned):angry: . I think you did the right thing and they lost a great site. Is it legal?

Illegal...lol. It's on their servers, they can legally do pretty much whatever they want. Now, whether this will go over well with their visitors and users is a whole different issue, and they haven't seemed to figure this out.

I hate all these places like FilePlanet that require you to login to download something (large demo's etc.). Luckily my ISP has a mirror for them and I use their backdoor ftp access :D

Though they might not have what I'm wanting, I just create a silly username and password to get in and download the file :D

Use a silly username? How uncouth! How unruly! Impetuous! Unprincipled!
