Rejected Messages From Mailing Lists

The mailing list software has a nice feature built in - the ability to block certain emails from getting through. My only gripe with this is that you can't set it to just drop certain blocked emails into the void; you have to manually tell it to discard them, which is actually more bothersome than just hitting 'delete' were it to come through. Is there any way to get it so trapped spam gets deflected without the list owner even having to know about it?

How would the mailing list know that it is trapped spam and not a trapped message that you really want?

It doesn't, but I haven't encountered a case of that yet and it's driving me insane discarding all these emails. I've probably gone through about 500 emails, all of which were spam, that just wasted my time going through them.
