Over at MChost, the MailMan email list program is down and they say it's a Cpanel issue that can't be fixed, or the Cpanel support guys won't fix it.

I have to have the ability to have email lists. The biggest one I have is only 310 addresses, and probably won't get much bigger, so size shouldn't really be an issue.

Would you happen to have Mojo Mail?

We have Majordomo on our standard (read non-cpanel) accounts. What kind of problems are you having with your mainman list? I haven't seen anyone report any errors, although I am not sure that many use it.

Hi Danny,

The primary problem is I send out messages, like I usually do, and they never go out.

I was thinking about trying Mojo Mail, but i may just move my sites somewhere other than MChost if I can't get it to working right.

I've never setup anything like that before, so I don't know how much trouble it would be.

Do you guys allow the use of Mojo Mail?

To my knowledge, none of our customers are using Mojo. We don't have a strict policy against it. Just be advised that mailing list programs can impose a significant amount of usage on a server. However, for the small size of your mailing list, I can't imagine that it would be a problem.

Signon and we will give it a go. If there are issues, I will contact you and work them out.

It doesn't sound like this applies to you, but just incase there are others that follow this thread at a later date. AlphaOmegaHosting.Com has a strict policy against spam. Please read the TOS for more information.

Don't worry. I'm a soldier in the war on spam.
I've actually had a site shut down by their registar because they were send spam messages to people using an email address in one of my domains.

I hear that Mojo Mail has the ability to send in batches, which is supposed to use much less processing than trying to send to the entire list all at once. Plus, I hardly have any returned mail. Just the occasional "mailbox has reached it's quota" type stuff. I like to bad addresses weeded out.

I may just take you up on moving over. You seem to at least answer questions.
Over at MChost it's like pulling teeth just to get simple inquiries answered.

It'll probably take me about a month.
I have my own name server. Is that going to workout?

When you say you have your own nameserver, you mean you have private nameservers registered? Is this a regular or reseller account?

Yes. My name server is a domain that I own, ProfessionalMediaServices.com
And yes this would be a resellers account.

I have about 8 or 10 sites I manage.

We have several accounts available with private nameservers. Typically, you would transfer your site contents over then request the change of IP's on your private nameservers to point to the IP addresses we will provide you.

Yeah, I figured I'd have to upload all my content and create an account for each site.
Then once I make sure all sites are working properly (getting to them live online using a IP numbered web address) I'd go to my registrar and change the DNS info so my name servers will point to here.

That's a good thing about having name servers.
Beats logining into each individual domain name and changing all those DNS records.

So do you guys have WHM, where I can go in and add & delete my own sites when needed?

I'd be interested in the $39.99 deal per month with 2 gigs of space and 30 gigs monthly transfer.

Yes, our reseller accounts come with WHM so you can go in and add/delete sites, view bandwidth usage, etc.

You guys don't allow adult content do you?

I'm not sure I would want to share a server with some adult site that is engaging in spam (like most of them do) and get the server blacklisted with the spam cops.

No. It is written in the TOS.

Great.

Now, if I could find time to go ahead and make the move.
I'll get my act together in the next month, or so.

Thanks for the info...

Nedani is right...its in the TOS. However, I will reiterate here for anyone that is curious. We have a ZERO tolerance policy for spam and pornography.
