Porn spam attacks on web host forums

The *celebguy* porn spammer from 3/3 is back today as *hotgin20*

I checked a couple of other forums - infodoma & dr2.net have both been hit. I checked infodoma because I got the idea for a minute that the spammer was following me around. Thank goodness, no - until today I had never ever visited the infodoma forum.

A year or so ago zeonhost's forum got hit so badly by trolls that they had to limit access to clients only, except for the pre-sales threads.

Porn spam is a mystery to me. I wonder -- does the guy think that by throwing a bucket of s**t in our face, he will cause us to suddenly develop a taste for s**t?

I want to keep the forums as open as possible. I will take what steps I can to prevent porn spammers. Hopefully we catch them quickly enough to prevent its spread as much as possible.

I wondered why those usernames we listed in various posts but would not show up when I clicked on the post.

You guys must have caught them quickly.

The reason we are able to respond to the real users as well as those requests so quickly as we are emailed upon each thread or reply to anything on the forums. Doesn't always me we have the time to jump right in and respond, but we get to them as quick as we can.

I noticed the same thing. I thought it was a bug with vBulletin but I noticed it was the same guy missing in all threads(*celebguy*).

Kick/ban them fast. I receive a lot of those messages on Yahoo mail. I see I cannot stop the spam but I wish they send something original. :) .
