Banner script phpAdsNew

I want to install a banner rotation script and everyone recommends phpAdsNew. After reviewing the install info I see they say the current version rc3 is currently not compatible with MySQL 4 running in ANSI mode. My cPanel showd current MySQL is 4.0.13.

Will phpAdsNew work? Any other gotchas or recommendations for phpAdsNew?
