Here are a few of the changes that we are making to improve your webhosting experience.
Urchin web stats
Urchin is a very nice stats tool that is available at no additional cost on all of our shared hosting plans, almost all of our current dedicated servers and all new dedicated servers. Urchin is far and away the best web stats package we have seen. The package does everything that the others do and does so much more efficiently with simpler and easier to understand and navigate controls. It includes the most comprehensive set of data views and statistics analysis of any package we have used.
The method used to access the Urchin stats for your site varies depending upon the hosting package and control panel you are using. Customers on Ensim servers should access it via http://www.yourdomain.com:8080/ and contact the helpdesk for login information. Cpanel customers can access Urchin via their control panels using the x, x2 or blue lagoon themes under the web/ftp stats icon.
Windows Hosting
We have decided to start offering Windows hosting plans to service customers that require Microsoft related technologies. There is no replacement for Windows servers for customers that are using or interesting in using ASP, ASP.NET and other exclusively Microsoft technologies. Package details can be found at http://www.alphaomegahosting.com/windows.html. Please note that Windows packages are priced a bit higher than our Linux hosting packages, as the costs associated with it are much higher. If you are interested in a Windows hosting package, please contact one of our staff members.
Customer support contact options
For any of you that aren’t aware, we have several methods of contacting a support representative. AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and ICQ contact information can be found at http://www.alphaomegahosting.com/support.html. We have our LiveChat option that is available on all of the pages of our website by clicking on the LiveChat link on the bottom left of any page. Chat options are offered on a best effort basis, however, our helpdesk is monitored 24/7 and you can contact us here from anywhere you can access your email by registering your email address at our helpdesk at http://alphaomegahosting.com/cgi-bin/pdesk.cgi. We require email registration for a few reasons, but the major benefit of registration to our customers is that it allows you to email us at support@alphaomegahosting.com directly without having to go to the website at all and also offers you the ability to register multiple email addresses so that you may reach us from different locations where you may have access to specific email accounts while not having access to others. The helpdesk is, as mentioned above, monitored 24/7 by a variety of methods, including pager notification of priority one tickets. We do request that you reserve priority one, or emergency, tickets for site down or server down issues, but if you have a major problem that needs immediate attention, whatever the time, submit a priority one ticket and we will be notified and will respond ASAP.
We would also like to encourage our customers to send along any suggestions that you think might make your hosting experience better for consideration by our staff and management. You can do this by emailing suggestions@alphaomegahosting.com or by visiting the suggestions section of our customer support forums at http://www.support-forums.com and registering your site admin username to post under. The support forums are a wonderful tool and I encourage you to check the site out even if you choose to submit suggestions at the email address above.
