Run a strategy gaming site:

There are a ton of great strategy and wargaming titles on the way. Oh and aslo addicted to Europa Universalis ;) The WWII version Hearts Of Iron looks set to be the most detailed and accurate strategy game ever produced.

You can find details here:

Here are two great ones for you, incase you haven't heard about them.

Combat Mission http://www.battlefront.com

and

Laser Squad Nemesis http://www.lasersquadnemesis.com

Both are Play By EMail games, but Combat Mission can be played 1v1 over the internet or offline against the AI.

I bet you never heard of a game called "Colonial Conquest" that was played on the Atari 800 computer.

It was miles ahead of its time and LOTS of fun. Amazingly enough, the computer's AI was pretty doggone good.

I had an Amstrad CPC 6128 8-bit computer and my mum/dad weren't very rich so we didn't have a lot of games for it. No stategy type games though i saw one advertised that i really wanted. The game came with a board and small tanks that you could move about. Combat Mission has that though, it's cool attacking Tigers with Shermans hehe Try the demo out.

I've bought a few stategy board games off ebay a while back. Went through a phase where i was buying all these board games that i wanted when I was younger, but didn't have. They're currently packed away in the attic as I have nobody to play with :D LOL

Kinda a catch 22 there isn't it? When you had people to play with, you didn't have the games.... now that you've got the games, you have no one to play with.

But hey, at least you finally got them :)

I know that feeling, I run several games sites and have a ton of games come through to preview review or get reviewed etc, I actually find I have very little time to play them for FUN lol.

Sort of murphys law in action :D

Hopefully some of the games (like junior monopoly lol) wont be too hard and take too long to learn once I find people to play with :D

You ever heard of a game called Iron Wolves? You play it over the internet and you have a choice of subs or ships to sail with the intent of sinking the NME subs/ships :D

The graphics are poor (1997) and the game's buggy (uses 100% processor 100% of the time), but it's a challenge to sink a ship with a sub :D

Amstrad??? I'm pretty certain that Amstrad is a make of violin. Imagine -- trying to play computer games on a violin! No wonder Marc couldn't get anyone to play with him.

Amstrad's I'm guessing weren't very popular in America having to compete against Nintendo and Sega, though they were so in Europe.

With consoles becoming more popular, 16bit computers (Amiga, Atari) and IMB PC's becoming cheaper, the 8bit market died a slow painful death :(

Didn't stop Alan Sugar making and keeping a fortune from Amstrad though. The last product I saw that it made was a home telephone that you could send and recieve emails on. He's currently the chairman of a football club in England.
