This how I think... Welcome to my brain :D

http://www.Domain.com/forum Looks plain and boring.

Cue 150w lightbulb above my head :)

http://forum.Domain.com Looks far better don't you think?

Now when you create a forum using forum as the folder name, it sits at /public_html/forum/<forum files>.

Now when you create a sub domain name using the name forum, a folder is created to which the sub domain points to and it sits at /public_html/forum.

Still with me? Good :D

All simple and easy, but the sub domain doesn't work, just get a Bad Gateway message. The forum works ok though when I visit http://www.Domain.com/forum.

Any idea why the sub domain doesn't work?

CRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAP :( Just tried with another account and it works 100% A-OK LOL :D

MWahahahahahahahahaha I made you all read this for nothing :p :p :p

/me runs and hides.

We have had this problem trickle in and out of the helpdesk from a few different users. The bottom line is that there is a bug in Cpanel that effects the subdomain and dns.

Essentially what should happen when you create a subdomain from a dns standpoint is this:

Add subdomain to bottom of dns zone file.
Update serial number in zone file so other nameservers will be aware of the update.

However, currently this second step is not happening. I have created a bug request with Cpanel and they have accepted it and assigned a number, however, the problem has not yet been resolved. If you will just forward a copy of your domain name and the subdomain to support@alphaomegahosting.com, we will update the serial number which will force dns to update and voila, everything should start working.

We appologize for the inconvenience, but sometimes these bugs just pop up.

No need to apolgize Danny, not your fault. I'm still currently messing about with cpanel and all the extras to see what they do. Today was sub-domain play day :D

Talking of domains, what do the terms Park a Domain and Addon Domain mean? Is parking a domain when you point more than one domain name to the same place?

The cPanel online help pages are somewhat lacking in explanatory explanations for what each feature does. :(

Cheers

Park domain basically causes a domain name to "sit" on top of your main domain.

Add on domains allows you to have additional domain names pointing to directories.
