apparently using hotmail with another ISP's DSL has limits
for instance you cannot forward messages you recieved
but you can recieve them
makes it hard to use hotmail for online courses
never realized how much online courses rely on forwards untill
just recently.
made contact with the ISP,they inform me it is a Microsoft/MSN problem
not theirs.
I happen to be running Win98SE and the ISP says I need to go XP
for proper use of DSL
personally think that stinks as they do not tell anyone up front you need XP
cannot change the sevice as a contract is in the works.
very odd because I'm told by techs and friends/family with DSL you should be
able to say you are not happy, they in turn should honor your request
I just wonder if anyone out there has the same issues with both hotmail and DSL

How hotmail receives or sends messages is completely independant of which ISP you use. It's entirely web-based (unless you use a plugin for Outlook) so all mail transfer is done through the hotmail servers.

Also, your ISP probably said that about using their service so they can pass the buck. They read from a script that's based on XP and probably don't know anything about any other OS's. I say the best choice is to stop using hotmail and use webmail like the ones that come with the alphaomega plans.
