A couple of years ago I was a big advocate of AVG. Not only free, but I thought it was better than any other anti virus software.
Things change - for a while it would get wiped out faster than I could install it so I stopped using it.
Systematically being unimpressed with the others I'm back with AVG and it seems they are once again in control, not letting any of the current nastiness get past them.
When I open the Task Manager I have four processes running at all times from AVG;
avgemc.exe
avgcc.exe
avgupsvc.exe
avgamsvr.exe
On average, these four executables added together are using between 48 and 50 MB of memory. This seems a bit overboard to me.
Are all four necessary or can I stop one or two?
Is the RAM usage par or have I got something funky going on?
