Default Flash Player Security

There is a new bug for Macromedia Flash Player and it allows malicious code to be executed on your computer. For details and update:

Thanks Nedani!

I do wish that someone in the AOH community would keep us all posted on critical updates to Microsoft products.

For some reason I simply cannot get the windows update site to work with my version of IE. Everything goes fine until it tries to start the download, then it freezes.

I'm especially concerned to get update Q812709 that applies to WinME. It's only a couple of hundred K, so if someone got it & would put it on their site for me to download, I would be very grateful.

Peace to all of thee and thine.....bellgamin

Try with something different than IE. You will be able to download the update and then run it like a simple program.

Nedani- thanks for the link. I have added it to my bookmarks.

Unfortunately it doesn't work in this case. No matter how I do the searches & sorts, the M$ download site will not list Q812709. In fact, I can't get it to list anything at all for WinMe. I'll try again in a few weeks.

I still am seeking a solution. My IE downloads work fine for everywhere but the M$ site.

You might try disabling your anti-virus and firewall then copy and paste this link in and see if it works:

Thanks gade. I tried it. It gets me two links, both of which go to the same place -- namely, the M$ security bulletin MS03-006, which is what alerted me to this in the first place.

Unfortunately, the M$ bulletin sends me to download from the windowsupdate site -- and THAT's the place that freezes when it starts to download.

I did a "heal thyself" on my IE, & got a clean bill of health at the end, but it still freezes on the download. There is no error message -- the download progress pop-up just sits there & does nothing.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I still need HELLLLLLLLLLLLP!

Well, I'm running ME, too. My live update works, but I had to tweak both Norton AV and ZAlarm. I know I'm getting pretty tired of M$.
